Mick Davis
Originally from Dublin, Mick Davis now resides on the Dingle peninsula. Known previously for his sculptural work, Mick has turned his attention to the delicate interplay of line and wash. His recent output is split between two distinct yet harmonious paths: Figurative drawings that echo his sculptor’s understanding of anatomy, and vibrant watercolor landscapes that celebrate the openness of the horizon. By moving from sculpture to painting & drawing, Davis explores the tension between the solid human form and the vast, changing environments we inhabit. His landscape paintings are strongly influenced by the transient glow of West Kerry's wid terrain.
